Customer Challenge:

One of our largest clients faced a complex challenge of having to meet the approaching deadline for a 10-year tank inspection on a 150’ diameter gasoline storage tank. Having multiple projects occurring at the same time the cleaning, inspection and potential repairs of this tank was put on an accelerated schedule. The client knew they needed a reliable and safety focused company to meet the demands of getting this tank ready for inspection. Work included entering through the tank’s exterior roof while the tank was full of product and setting close to 80 legs on an internal floating roof. Tank isolation by removing the shell valve. Removing and
managing the offsite recycling of over 15,000 gallons of flammable waste. Cleaning the tank floor walls and sump as well as inspecting all the roof panels. Once this was completed the tank could be issued a Gas Free/Safe for Hot work permit allowing the inspection crew to immediately and safely enter the tank for the required regulatory inspection. The client knew they needed a solution that could efficiently meet the regulatory deadline, safely perform the work, properly manage the waste, mitigate environmental impact, and adhere to strict regulatory standards.
